How Much Does SEO Cost in Singapore? (2026)

By Thomas, Founder, AISEO USA — Updated July 2026

SEO in Singapore typically costs S$800–S$3,500 per month in 2026 for most SMEs, with entry-level retainers at S$800–S$1,500, mid-market campaigns at S$1,500–S$3,500, full-service programmes at S$3,500–S$7,000, and enterprise work running S$7,000–S$20,000+. Freelancers charge less (roughly S$800–S$2,000/month for consultants), and hourly consulting runs about S$100–S$250. Every figure in this guide is a third-party market range from published Singapore pricing guides — not our rates.

SEO pricing in Singapore at a glance (2026)

Tier Monthly range (SGD) What's usually included
Entry / basic S$800–S$1,500 On-page optimisation, Google Business Profile, 1–2 articles a month
Mid-market S$1,500–S$3,500 Keyword strategy, 3–4 articles, technical monitoring, light link building
Full-service S$3,500–S$7,000 Deep technical SEO, a content programme, proactive link building
Enterprise S$7,000–S$20,000+ Multilingual and multi-market campaigns, AI-entity SEO, dedicated strategists
Freelance consultant S$800–S$2,000+ Strategy and oversight without agency overhead

The tier structure above comes from SingRank's 2026 pricing guide. First Page Digital maps a nearly identical shape — intermediate services at S$1,500–S$3,000, advanced at S$3,000–S$5,000, enterprise from S$5,000 up to S$25,000+ — and notes most Singapore SMEs entering SEO for the first time spend S$800–S$1,500/month. Heroes of Digital quotes a broader S$600–S$3,000+ band for typical packages. Three independent guides, one consistent picture: quality work in Singapore starts around S$800/month, and the serious mid-market sits between S$1,500 and S$3,500.

02

Why is SEO priced this way in Singapore?

Singapore is an unusual SEO market: a whole country compressed into one city. There is no "cheaper regional market" to retreat to — a renovation contractor in Woodlands competes on the exact same SERP as one in Bukit Timah. Four forces set your number:

  1. Competition density. Legal, finance, property, aesthetics, renovation and tuition are some of the most contested search categories anywhere, because every provider on the island is fighting for the same national-and-local results page. Harder SERPs demand more content, more authority and more months of sustained work.
  2. Local labour costs. Singapore SEO talent is well paid. Marketing Interactive's 2025 salary data (cited by First Page Digital) puts SEO executives at S$2,600–S$4,700/month, specialists at S$4,500–S$6,000, and managers at S$6,000–S$11,000. A retainer has to cover those hours.
  3. Who actually does the work. This is Singapore's signature pricing wrinkle: First Page Digital's data shows "basic agency" retainers split into S$300–S$1,200 when delivered by offshore teams versus S$800–S$1,500 for local teams. Two quotes that look similar can buy very different work — always ask where the execution sits.
  4. Provider experience. Ahrefs research cited in the same guide found agencies under two years old average around S$1,540/month, rising to roughly S$3,648/month for agencies with five or more years of track record. You are paying for pattern recognition as much as hours.

"In a one-city market, there's no easy suburb to hide in. Every Singapore SERP is a national final." — Thomas, Founder, AISEO USA

03

What do different industries pay for SEO in Singapore?

Because difficulty is set by the category rather than the postcode, Singapore pricing guides increasingly quote budgets by industry. SingRank publishes these working ranges:

Legal services: S$5,000–S$10,000+/month — small numbers of extremely high-value cases, fierce competition
Ecommerce: S$3,500–S$15,000+/month — scale of catalogue and technical surface drives cost
Renovation and interior design: S$2,500–S$4,000/month — one of Singapore's most crowded consumer categories
F&B: S$1,500–S$3,000/month — heavily local-intent, review-driven

The pattern to internalise: budget follows customer value and SERP difficulty. A conveyancing lawyer and a bubble-tea shop should not be on the same retainer, even though both are "small businesses."

04

Freelancer vs agency vs in-house in Singapore

Provider type Typical cost (SGD) Best for
Freelancer (task-based) S$200–S$800/month Defined deliverables you can brief and manage yourself
Freelance consultant S$800–S$2,000+/month Strategy and oversight on a lean budget
Agency S$800–S$7,000+/month, or S$100–S$250/hr Full execution across content, technical and links
In-house specialist S$4,500–S$6,000/month salary (specialist level) Brands with continuous, high-volume SEO work

Freelance bands and salary figures are from First Page Digital; hourly consulting of S$100–S$250 is SingRank's range, and Heroes of Digital quotes agency hourly rates of S$100–S$175. The trade-offs are structural. A freelancer is capacity-capped — one person cannot run content, technical and outreach at once. An agency buys you a bench. An in-house hire looks economical against a S$5,000 retainer until you add CPF contributions, tools and the fact that one specialist still cannot write, build links and fix code simultaneously; most in-house teams outsource anyway. For most Singapore SMEs, the practical sequence is consultant → agency → hybrid, in that order, as revenue justifies it.

05

What pricing models will you see in Singapore?

Monthly retainer (S$800–S$7,000+). The default. Predictable, and suited to SEO's compounding nature. The S$1,500–S$3,500 mid-market band is where scope typically becomes meaningful — enough for content, technical work and links in the same month.

Hourly consulting (S$100–S$250). Right for audits, second opinions and steering an internal team. Wrong as your only motion — advice without execution ranks nothing.

Project fees. SingRank lists technical audits at S$800–S$3,500 and site migrations at S$3,000–S$15,000. Expert-written content runs about S$300–S$800 per article. Useful for defined jobs; not a substitute for a sustained programme.

"Guaranteed ranking" packages. Treat with suspicion. Guarantees are usually anchored to keywords nobody searches, and no honest provider can guarantee citations in AI answers. Ask for the keyword list in writing before you sign anything.

06

Is cheap SEO worth it in Singapore?

Usually not — and Singapore has a specific version of this trap. Heroes of Digital warns that overseas providers pitch Singapore businesses packages as low as S$99–S$400/month, and calculates that even a S$300–S$600 package buys just two to four hours of actual work a month. Two to four hours cannot move a Singapore SERP where your competitors fund forty.

The arithmetic that matters is opportunity cost. Spend S$400/month for a year and you're out S$4,800 with nothing compounding; meanwhile the competitor spending S$2,500/month owns the rankings — and increasingly the AI answers — you'll later pay far more to contest. If the honest budget for your category isn't available yet, it is genuinely better to fix your Google Business Profile and local foundations yourself and wait, than to feed a retainer too small to matter.

07

Does AI search change SEO budgets in Singapore?

Yes, and faster here than almost anywhere. Microsoft's global diffusion report ranks Singapore second in the world for generative-AI adoption, at 60.9% of the working-age population (Microsoft, 2026). When six in ten of your addressable market already use AI tools, the answers ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews give about your category are commercial real estate.

Unlike some markets, few Singapore agencies publish a standalone GEO/AEO rate card yet. Where AI-search work appears in published tiers, it sits at the top: SingRank places AI-entity SEO inside its enterprise band (S$7,000–S$20,000+). In practice, most providers — ourselves included — treat AI SEO as a workstream inside the main retainer rather than a separate bill, because the entity work, structured data and answer-ready content that win AI citations are built from the same research that wins Google rankings. What matters when comparing quotes is whether AI visibility is being measured at all: ask any shortlisted provider how they'll track what AI engines say about your brand. Blank looks are disqualifying in 2026. Our Singapore AI SEO page covers what that workstream involves.

08

What hidden costs should Singapore businesses check?

GST. Singapore GST is 9%, and GST-registered agencies add it on top of the quoted retainer. Confirm whether your quote is inclusive.
Setup and audit fees. Many engagements open with a one-off technical audit — S$800–S$3,500 at market rates — before the retainer starts. Reasonable, but it should be itemised.
Content billed separately. At S$300–S$800 per expert article, a "S$1,200 retainer" that excludes writing is a much larger commitment than it looks.
Offshore substitution. The quote is local; the delivery isn't. Ask directly who executes and where. There are excellent hybrid models — but you should know what you're buying.
Lock-in contracts. Twelve-month minimums are common in Singapore. Ask what the exit terms are and what you own (content, reports, analytics access) if you leave.

None of these are inherently unfair. The unfair version is discovering them in month three. Get the all-in, GST-inclusive figure in writing.

FAQ

How much does SEO cost in Singapore per month?

Most Singapore SMEs pay S$800–S$3,500/month in 2026. Entry retainers run S$800–S$1,500, mid-market campaigns S$1,500–S$3,500, full-service programmes S$3,500–S$7,000, and enterprise engagements S$7,000–S$20,000+. Competitive categories like legal and ecommerce budget higher — often S$3,500–S$15,000+.

How much does a freelance SEO cost in Singapore?

Task-based freelancers charge roughly S$200–S$800/month, while freelance SEO consultants handling strategy and campaign oversight charge about S$800–S$2,000+/month. Hourly consulting in Singapore runs approximately S$100–S$250. Freelancers suit well-scoped work but are capacity-limited across content, technical and link building.

What do SEO agencies in Singapore charge per hour?

Published Singapore ranges put agency hourly rates at about S$100–S$175, with senior consultants charging up to S$250/hour. Hourly billing fits audits and advisory work; ongoing campaigns are almost always priced as monthly retainers instead.

Is a S$300–S$500 SEO package worth it in Singapore?

Rarely. At Singapore labour rates, S$300–S$600/month buys roughly two to four hours of work — not enough to compete on serious SERPs. Ultra-cheap packages are typically delivered offshore with templated content. The bigger cost is a year of stagnation while funded competitors compound.

How much should a small business in Singapore budget for SEO?

Around S$800–S$1,500/month is the realistic entry point for a Singapore small business, covering local optimisation, on-page work and initial content. Businesses in contested categories — renovation, aesthetics, legal, finance — should plan for S$2,500+ to be genuinely competitive.

Do Singapore agencies charge extra for AI-search optimisation (GEO/AEO)?

Few publish standalone GEO rates yet; where AI-entity work appears in rate cards it sits in enterprise tiers (S$7,000+). Most providers fold AI-visibility work into the main retainer, since the same entity signals and answer-ready content drive both Google rankings and AI citations.
